Practical engineering with a software mindset.

Environmental Engineer with practical experience installing, commissioning and maintaining environmental monitoring systems.

My work covers water level, water quality, flow, tidal and meteorological monitoring across nationwide networks, from field sensors and data loggers through telemetry and onward data delivery. I also develop web and mobile tools for retrieving and visualising instrument data.

  • Install, commission, maintain and fault-find water-level, water-quality, flow, tidal and meteorological monitoring equipment at sites throughout Ireland.
  • Configure and troubleshoot primarily OTT and Campbell Scientific data loggers, diagnose sensor, power and communications faults, and manage remote data transfer using FTP, HTTPS and other telemetry connections.
  • Build web interfaces and mobile applications that retrieve monitoring data from field instruments and present it through clear, practical visualisations.
